Atmos Energy Gas Furnace Rebates

Atmos Energy Gas Furnace Rebates in Dallas–Fort Worth

Eligible Atmos Energy Mid-Tex customers may qualify for up to $350 on a high-efficiency natural gas furnace. Greentech sizes your system correctly, verifies efficiency and helps you document your rebate.

Atmos Energy Gas Furnace Rebates for DFW Homeowners

If your gas furnace is nearing the end of its life, Atmos Energy's 2026–2027 Mid-Tex appliance rebate program can take up to $350 off a qualifying high-efficiency natural gas furnace. At Greentech Engineering, we treat the rebate as the last step, not the first. We start by sizing the furnace correctly for your home, select equipment that actually meets the program's efficiency requirements, and document the installation so your rebate application is complete the first time.

2026–2027 Atmos Energy Rebate Amounts

For the current program year (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027), Atmos Energy lists the following residential rebates in its Mid-Tex division:

  • $300 – natural gas furnace, 90% AFUE or higher, ENERGY STAR® rated
  • $350 – natural gas furnace, 95% AFUE or higher, ENERGY STAR® rated
  • $75 – ENERGY STAR® rated smart thermostat

Rebates are paid only while program funds remain available, and Atmos Energy may change amounts or terms at any time. We always confirm the current program details before you commit to equipment.

Who Qualifies for an Atmos Energy Rebate?

  • You must be a current Atmos Energy residential or business customer in the Mid-Tex division, which covers much of the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
  • Your application must include a recent Atmos Energy bill showing the same name and address as the application.
  • Each eligible appliance can receive only one rebate, paid either to the homeowner or to the builder, not both.
  • Applications must be submitted within 12 months of the purchase or installation date.

Which Gas Furnaces Are Eligible?

To qualify, the furnace must be a natural gas unit that is ENERGY STAR® rated and meets the program's efficiency threshold of 90% AFUE or higher (95% AFUE or higher for the $350 tier). AFUE, or Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency, measures how much of the fuel you pay for becomes heat in your home. Before installation, we check the exact model against its AHRI certificate and the ENERGY STAR product listing so there are no surprises when you apply.

How to Apply for an Atmos Energy Rebate

  • Have a qualifying furnace installed to all applicable local, state and federal codes.
  • Complete the Atmos Energy residential rebate application online through the program portal, operated by P3 Enertrek for Atmos Energy, or download the paper form.
  • Attach a copy of a recent Atmos Energy bill and the contractor's invoice showing the equipment purchased.
  • Keep copies of your application and all attachments for your records.

How Greentech Verifies Furnace Efficiency and Rebate Eligibility

A rebate is only worth it if the furnace is right for your home. Our engineering-first process includes:

  • Load calculation and proper sizing – an oversized furnace short-cycles, wastes gas and wears out faster; an undersized one struggles on the coldest nights.
  • Equipment selection – we compare 90% and 95%+ AFUE options so you can see the real cost difference against the rebate tier and your expected gas savings.
  • Ductwork and venting review – high-efficiency condensing furnaces need correct venting and condensate drainage to perform as rated.
  • Rebate documentation – your invoice lists the model numbers, efficiency ratings and installation date the application requires.

Combining Atmos Rebates With Other Savings

Atmos Energy rebates apply to natural gas equipment. If you are also upgrading electric equipment such as an air conditioner or heat pump, utility incentives through Oncor may be available for qualifying projects. Learn more on our Oncor HVAC rebate page or see every current program on our Energy Rebate Consulting hub. Please note that the federal 25C energy efficiency tax credit ended for equipment installed after December 31, 2025, so utility rebates are now the main incentives for 2026 installations. Frequently Asked Questions

How much is the Atmos Energy furnace rebate for 2026–2027?

In the Mid-Tex division, Atmos Energy lists a $300 rebate for ENERGY STAR® rated natural gas furnaces with 90% AFUE or higher and a $350 rebate for ENERGY STAR® rated furnaces with 95% AFUE or higher, for the July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027 program year.

Do I need to be an Atmos Energy customer?

Yes. The rebate is available only to current Atmos Energy residential or business customers in the Mid-Tex division, and the application must include a recent Atmos Energy bill in the applicant's name.

How long do I have to apply after installation?

Atmos Energy does not accept rebate applications more than 12 months after the purchase or installation date, so we recommend applying as soon as your installation is complete.

Is the rebate guaranteed?

No. Applications are processed only while program funds are available, and Atmos Energy makes the final eligibility decision. We help you choose qualifying equipment and provide complete documentation to give your application the best chance of approval.

Can I combine an Atmos rebate with an Oncor incentive?

The programs cover different equipment. Atmos Energy rebates apply to natural gas appliances, while Oncor incentives apply to qualifying electric efficiency upgrades. A project that includes both a new gas furnace and a high-efficiency air conditioner or heat pump may qualify for both, subject to each program's rules.

Is there still a federal tax credit for a new gas furnace?

No. The federal 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit ended for equipment placed in service after December 31, 2025. Utility rebates such as Atmos Energy's furnace rebate are now the primary incentives for 2026 installations.
