📍 Location: Frisco, TX
🏠 Issue: Condenser kept turning on and off + strange noise
🔍 The Problem:
A Frisco homeowner reported their A/C condenser was cycling rapidly and making unusual noises. After inspection, we found the condensation drain was clogged, causing the float switch to repeatedly trip—cutting power to the condenser.
Worse yet, the float switch had been mis-wired by a previous contractor, sending its signal through the condenser control circuit—leading to unsafe short-cycling that could burn out the compressor, a costly failure.
🛠 Our Solution:
• We cleared the drain line completely with a pressurized flush
• Rewired the float switch to the main control power, as it should be assuring safe, reliable shutdowns in case of water buildup
🎥 Before-and-after video footage was taken during the job to show the issue and repair.
⚠️ Important Tip:
Many systems fail not because of bad equipment, but due to poor installation. In HVAC, equipment quality is 20% of performance—proper installation is the other 80%.
✅ The Result:
• Problem fully resolved
• Safer operation
• Homeowner protected from a major repair bill
